OUR STORY
Treasure Gardening is the creation of Sizzle Innovation delivering on a mission to make greener choices easier for everyone. It has been funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.
Our ambition is to become a successful business demonstrating how profit can go hand-in-glove with innovative sustainable products. Turning this vision into reality are Founders with a deep understanding of sustainability, extensive horticultural knowledge and proven entrepreneurial skills.
Simon Blackhurst

Simon Blackhurst is the expert lead on the peat alternative trials that were run in the Northeast of England. He has extensive technical and practical experience built within the horticultural sector, holds a Member Chartership of Horticulture award and has run a composting facility producing over 16 million bags of growing media a year.
Trewin Restorick
Founder
Trewin Restorick was the Founder and CEO of Hubbub UK which has twice won ‘Charity of the Year’ for transforming the way environmental messages are communicated by bringing people and organisations together as a force for good. Trewin was recognised as a Global Leader of the Year by the Global Good Awards, in 2021, he won the Business Green ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ and in 2022 voted by peers as the most influential person in the UK’s recycling and resource sector.

Treasure Gardening is committed to using our knowledge and resources to inspire widespread change. Our team has -
Created Enrich the Earth working with Community Gardens across the North-East of England helping them to grow peat-free.
Created an External Advisory Group helping to share best practice and new ideas across the horticultural sector.
Identified the legislative barriers that are hindering the transition to a more circular economy in growing and are working with Seahorse Environmental to build a wide coalition of supportive organisations.
Led a new coalition of organisations seeking to provide gardeners with accurate and consistent advice on how to grow peat free.
